After qualification in the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1991, I initially worked in Newcastle Dental Hospital before undertaking a teaching and research post for Newcastle University. After two years, I realised that my passion lay in general practice, and I have been following this path since 1993.

I worked on the NHS for thirteen years in the North East of England. My father, a nurse, considered it the greatest privilege to serve and become part of a community, and I wholeheartedly agree with him.

I moved to Wellington in January 2006, and started working in the Hutt the following month. I opened Fisher Dental in 2018 and have loved my time here - I can think of no better place to be. It is particularly exciting for me to operate a practice in the area, and to have such a great team of people around me.

When not at work, I am the proud father of two growing girls, and the author of seven books. I love to read and also to explore the beauty of our local surroundings, the Marlborough Sounds being a favourite destination.
